Review: Skill Sharpeners Geography K

Need an easy way to teach geography? It’s right here. Skill Sharpeners Geography K is apart of our Timberdoodle curriculum and it’s a great little workbook. Each section starts off with a little bit about the topic that you read then your child does a little worksheet on what was read and finally they get to work those cutting and pasting skills. Each section has a certificate saying they learned the topic which I really like. Our daughter loves when we get to put her things on the fridge and certificates are one of my favorite things to hang.

The workbook is colorful and focuses on many different things; reading a map, landforms, continents and oceans, etc. I don’t remember learning half of what is in this book when I was in kindergarten I’m public school. Our daughter’s family part is the end of the lessons where she gets to cut and paste. It makes her so excited and she really gets into the material because of it.

Review: Djeco So Pop

Our daughter loves arts and crafts. Djeco So Pop is another amazing art project that she had a blast doing. I got it through Timberdoodle and it also comes with their PreK Curriculum Kit. The kit comes with 4 different projects and all the pieces you need to put them together. This particular kit came with little envelopes for each project that had sequence in them so I popped out each item for the projects and put them in the envelopes so everything would be ready go when do each one. Djeco also give you a glue stick so you can glue the pieces on the boards but I have found the glue they provide isn’t that great so instead we use hot glue.

What I really like about Djeco art kits is that they give you a little booklet that shows where to put each piece on the boards. It shows you through pictures so if your child doesn’t read yet it’s not a problem. Easy for a young kid to follow and great for the parent because you don’t have to read a lengthy instruction book.

I’d definitely recomm…

Keeping Organized

Between homeschool, pet care, house cleaning and cooking it’s important to stay organized. How do I organize my homeschool curriculum? Well the main bulk is in a big container, the items I use multiple times a week I have in a utility tote, books I actually store in old Pull-Up boxes and for art supplies, flash cards and little games I keep them in a rolling container.

As for our pets and house cleaning, I have an amazing planner. What I love about this planner is that I was able to customize everything. The covers, layout and even add list like birthdays were all customized to my liking. The birthday list is awesome because the dates are already printed on that day and even lets me know how old people are. I write in my cleaning schedule, which is pretty simple. I clean 1 room a day, dishes everyday and laundry 4 times a week. I write in what days my pets get their baths or need something health wise.

Cooking is probably the part I hate most. Having to figure out what we’ll eat 3 ti…
