Review: Robotis PLAY 600 Pets

If you want to find a great STEM activity then I recommend  Robotis PLAY 600 Pets . This is by far the best project we’ve done. Once built the design actually moves! The kit comes with everything except batteries (AA x2). The manual shows you how to make 3 designs but you can go online and get 4 more projects to make using the same kit.  It is a bit hard for our daughter to put the connectors in but she’s 4. So instead I have her get the pieces and show me where they need to go and I put them in. Taking apart the design was quite difficult. I couldn’t get the connectors to come out. In the end I use a pair of tweezers to take the project apart.  Once we finished building the first project (bird), our daughter played with it all day. She can’t wait to build another one. For her to love doing an activity so much is wonderful and is why I highly recommend Robotis. I got it with our Timberdoodle curriculum for this year. There is no better learning than hands-on activities.

Review: Plus-Plus Mini 1200pc

As a stay-at-home-mom I’m always looking for things that our daughter can do on her own for when I need to do housework, care for baby sister or work on my commissions . Plus-Plus is so great for kids. We got this with our Timberdoodle Curriculum this year. Works motor skills, creativity and is just fun all around. It comes with a booklet to show how to make certain things or you can build whatever you want.  As cool as this is I did find some downsides. The pieces are sometimes hard to put together and take apart. Besides that I’d definitely recommend these. Our daughter probably spent about 2 hours building to her heart’s content before she was ready to move on to something else. After she builds things she plays with what she’s made. We are able to come up with interesting stories for our creations and add on by just building another item. Certainly, a win for creativity, motor skills and story telling.

Review: Cosmos Foil

Need an easy, mess free activity for the kids? Then  Cosmos Foil  is perfect for you. With 12 cards and plenty of stickers you can even do this with multiple kiddos. First you start off with your card then peel the sticker off and push it on the board. Then take your glittery foil and place it over the sticker and push. When you peel the foil off the sticker has pretty sparkly foil on it.  Our daughter loves to do art so this kit was right up her alley. This is something that she can do on her own if I need to get some chores done or when I’m feeding little sister. Our daughter is 4 so even young kids can make these art projects own their own which will definitely help with confidence and pride.  Since there is no wrong or right place to put the stickers your little ones are able to really make each piece their own style. I plan to display all 12 throughout our 1st grade year. I highly recommend this art kit which I got with our Timberdoodle curriculum.
