I really enjoy What Your Preschooler Needs to Know. It has a lot of classic poems, nursery rhymes as well as little stories from history and a bit of science. My daughter enjoys just snuggling up and reading the book together. I like how the history and science are not overwhelming for a young child. This book is also a great way to get your kiddos up and moving. My daughter love dance around to all the songs the book has.
